CHALLENGE
Create a visual identity and the promotional material for the Byron Bay Food and Wine Festival ‘By The Sea’, one of the biggest events in the food and wine industry. During this season of social separation and uncertainty, this festival invites hope and instills brightness for all ages with the emphasis of taking pleasure in the reconnection
with people, the outdoors and fine food.

EXECUTION
With the objective of creating a family friendly design that evokes feelings of brightness and connection after a time of social separation, I have chosen calming pastel tones that spark curiosity. I have selected a playful handwritten typography combined with a Matisse cut out style to build an aesthetic artwork that people would happily put on their fridge as a reminder for this event. The use of graphic symbolism is strong throughout the design with the leaves symbolizing rebirth and resurrection; the birds symbolizing freedom; and the butterflies symbolizing healing.
